Professional Services Specialist | Core Network Engineer  

Detailed Description

The Professional Services Specialist is a highly trained product expert responsible for overseeing end-to-end product deployment. This role works directly with customers to demonstrate product functionality as well as to perform complex deployments and upgrades (design, install, configure, integrate, validate, and release) while maintaining a high level of quality, leveraging product capabilities and producing an optimal solution design, configuration, and implementation.

• Reviews with customers the business and technical requirements, and provides solutions that best address the customer's needs.
• Reviews, configure and tests detailed design documents.
• Defines test specifications and supports the fixing of defect using complex debugging and error analysis. Writes, reviews and tests detailed functional use case implementations.
• Provides technical support during all phases of a project and advices the customer's technical personnel at all levels.
• Installs and configures products in internal labs (ST), customer labs (UAT/Performance), and customer production environments. Installations may include O/S, DB's, applications and test tools (for example, Seagull, Oracle, TimesTen).
• Integrates Amdocs products with third party applications within commercial customer networks. Implements and validates product configuration changes in live customer networks in which there is a limited service outage.
• Performs system Health Checks (analysis of utilization patterns and tuning opportunities), as well as performance and stability trouble-shooting.
• Oversees end-to-end non-functional/performance testing, from test design up to an including test scenario implementation and analysis and result reporting.
• Performs connectivity validation of related system components. Reviews results with the customer and the customer's vendors, and provides relevant technical input to project status reporting. Identifies defects/incidents during the project, directing them to the relevant owner and following up on their handling. Identifies product gaps and recommends enhancements to the Product Core team.

• Bachelor’s degree holder in any IT-related field
• 3+ years of progressive experience in delivering and/or supporting complex hardware/software solutions and services/product implementation in the telco industry.
• Must have working knowledge of Amdocs/Bridgewater PCRF or any other Policy Controller.
• Must have knowledge of diameter protocol and Gx, Gy, Sy, Rx interfaces.
• Knowledge of telecom standards such as CDMA, LTE, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, etc.
• Broad technical experience in SW and/ or HW engineering: scripting, configuration, tuning, installation and testing.
• Significant Linux experience (design, networking, services, scripting skills (linux/python/perl), troubleshooting)
• PCRF, DRA, OCS and knowledge of the PCC Architecture are essential.
• Experience in writing, testing, and executing method of procedure (MOP) documents
• Ability to quickly master new systems and/or processes, capacity to stay organized while managing competing priorities, and a deep customer service orientation, both internally and externally.
• Ability to communicate, report, and negotiate with customer staff to ensure Amdocs goals are achieved.
• Ability to work independently (often the sole technical resource working on a project from start to finish).
• Ability to support off-hours deployment activities.
