Editorial Lifestyle Associate  

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Editor is second in command to the Editor-in-Chief in terms of planning and managing the website's day-to-day content production-including that of the site's microsites. S/He is tasked in producing stellar multimedia content and editing contibuted works, along with helping manage the site's social media platforms to ensure the timely delivery of content relevant to the needs of the target audience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists the Editor-in-Chief in editing the site's content
• Assists the Editor-in-Chief in managing and supervising the site's microsites, making sure all adhere to the agreed voice, timeline and standards
• Creates and manages story and content ideas, considering reader and audience appeal
• Produces topnotch multimedia content
• Maintains a consistent look and feel throughout all digital properties
• Helps manage the site's social media platforms
• Conceptualizes and implements online activities to increase viewership
• Takes charge of the day-to day content production in the Editor-in-Chief's absence

Problem Solving and Decision Making

Position holder is one of the main content producers for the site. S/He evaluates and assesses issues from both businesses and customer perspectives. Decisions are made in consideration of the effects to the digital team, company policies and procedures, industry trends, organization's culture, structure, financial state, and other internal and external factors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of Mass Communication, Journalism and Mutlimedia Arts, Advertisig, Marketing or other relevant field or equivalent education and experience
• Skills: Understanding of digital platforms and their respective models and disciplines (video, mobile, social, tablet); excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills; background in lifestlye journalism; exceptional attention to detail; must have a background in web content and the ability to write concisely and effectively to create web experiences that are compelling, informative and user-friendly; project management skills, with ability to organize and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Experience: at least 3 years demonstrated experience in lifestlye journalism and web production and online content production
