As a Data Scientist, you are responsible for managing data-related development pipelines. You will design and develop data science projects, review data-related code, and research on data packages.

Specifically, you may be tasked to perform the following:

Data Scientist

<h1>WHAT IS YOUR ROLE</h1>

As a Sr. Accountant, you will maintain a general ledger and review financial statements for accuracy before preparing reports that will assist senior management in making informed decisions about upcoming projects or years’ budgets. They’re also responsible for keeping track and recording all transactions within a company.

<h1>WHAT WILL YOU DO</h1>

<h2>Cash</h2>

<ul>
	<li>Review cash transactions running through Netsuite’s cash application module for Babylist, Inc. and our subsidiaries.</li>
	<li>Record cash transactions not captured through Netsuite’s cash application module, assigning coding as necessary and resolving open coding questions.</li>
	<li>Perform monthly cash account reconciliations between Netsuite and our bank, ensuring that reconciling items are identified, followed up on and resolved on a timely basis.</li>
</ul>

<h2>Credit Card Transactions</h2>

<ul>
	<li>Record Amex/ Brex credit card transactions.</li>
	<li>Reconcile Amex/ Brex credit card payables. Identify and resolve any reconciling items on a timely basis.</li>
	<li>Accrue for credit card rebates as necessary. Track and report on available rebate</li>
</ul>

<h2>Receivables</h2>

<ul>
	<li>Assist in reconciling receivables for our durable medical equipment company, including matching funds received against outstanding customer/ insurance receivables.</li>
</ul>

<h2>Prepaids </h2>

<ul>
	<li>Ensure that prepaid is set up appropriately by reviewing invoices, and ensuring that prepaid is set up in FloQast using the appropriate amortization period, account, and amortization account destination. </li>
	<li>Reconcile prepaid accounts to the general ledger every month. Identify and resolve any reconciling items on a timely basis.</li>
</ul>

<h2>Fixed and Intangible Assets</h2>

<ul>
	<li>Reconcile intangible asset/ accumulated amortization accounts every month, ensuring the sub-ledger agrees to Netsuite.</li>
	<li>Assist in Fixed Asset projects as necessary.</li>
</ul>

<h2>General Tasks </h2>

<ul>
	<li>Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable</li>
	<li>Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results</li>
	<li>Analyze financial information and summarize financial status</li>
	<li>Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending</li>
	<li>Provide technical support and advice on Management Accountant</li>
	<li>Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures</li>
	<li>Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers</li>
	<li>Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process</li>
	<li>Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process</li>
	<li>Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule</li>
	<li>Assist with tax audits and tax returns</li>
	<li>Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance</li>
	<li>Plan, assign and review staff’s work</li>
	<li>Support month-end and year-end close process</li>
	<li>Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls</li>
	<li>Ensure compliance with GAAP principles</li>
	<li>Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures</li>
