BCA YoungHackR: Learn How BCA Thrive Their Employer Branding Activities through Hackathon!

As one of the biggest private banks in Indonesia, Bank Central Asia (BCA) is always on a mission to create solutions that bring positive change to the society. In order to constantly adapt and stay on track in the digital work environment, they need to hire IT experts specialized in innovating the HR-related fields, expecting lots of fresh ideas from young IT talents. To find the best gems out there, BCA needs creative and special ways to reach them, one of which is through the right employer branding strategy. The best way in recruitment initiatives to find suitable talents is through employer branding events and BCA realized this could be the perfect solution for them.

Kalibrr was trusted to bring the best out of BCA’s employer branding needs, thus our employer branding team came out with an initiative to hold a hackathon event called “BCA YoungHackR”. Not only providing opportunity for young IT talents across Indonesia, the hackathon also aimed to convey their employer value proposition that BCA embraced to young aspiring talent in a trendy and youthful way. The BCA YoungHackR event consisted of training, office tour, competition, and many other fun activities.

Building Various Strategies to Boost Employer Branding Message

To succeed this program, our employer branding team built a pre-event strategy through creative and suitable messaging. We helped BCA raise the awareness by producing key visual and promotional videos with youthful tone, boosting it through website and social media campaigns, spreading the good news widely to reach the best IT talents in Indonesia as much as possible. We also handle an end-to-end employer branding event management and applicants management, ensuring everything was ready and met the expected standards for the Hackathon days.  The launch successfully contributed to hundreds of applications.

The Hackathon day finally arrived. All team participants were busy formulating their ideas and cracking the codes. They passionately put all their best skills and efforts in their works. On the final day, they presented their results in front of the Heads and BODs of BCA. The ideas conveyed were mostly high quality and even exceeded expectations. All the hard work finally paid off when the winner announcement came out. There were four winning teams selected by BCA who were entitled to take home the prize. Beyond just an event, BCA YoungHackR successfully became a place full of milestones, achievements, and new experiences for them. The triumph of that day was also felt by the entire committee team from Kalibrr and BCA.

Getting Fresh Ideas and Innovations Through the Activation

Kalibrr employer branding team feels really honored to be a part of the first ever BCA YoungHackR because the event enhances the quality of talents and provides a platform for achievement. Those two are inline with our values. This program brings off BCA’s digital adoption and innovation, while also delivering the intended employer value proposition to young talents across Indonesia. Overall, we obtained 4.4 / 5 satisfaction from the finalists, concluding a great candidate experience. From this employer branding program, BCA gains a lot of outstanding fresh ideas and out-of-the-box IT innovations for their HR division. In addition, BCA YoungHackR event raises awareness of the IT talent market at BCA.
