About the Client:

Our client from the USA runs an accounting business, providing bookkeeping and tax return services to clients on daily, monthly, and annual basis. She primarily works with QuickBooks.

About the Role:

As a Virtual Bookkeeping Assistant, you will be responsible for providing remote support to our client’s accounting team and clients, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

This role requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

 
Responsibilities:

<ul>
	<li>Maintain accurate financial records for clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.</li>
	<li>Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards.</li>
	<li>Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.</li>
	<li>Assist in the preparation of individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.</li>
	<li>Collaborate with the client to optimize bookkeeping processes and implement best practices.</li>
	<li>Communicate effectively with clients to address questions</li>
	<li>Ensure the confidentiality and security of clients' financial information.</li>
	<li>Stay current on industry trends, tax law changes, and accounting software updates to provide informed recommendations and support to clients.</li>
	<li>Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements for clients.</li>
	<li>Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned by the accounting team.</li>
</ul>

Requirements

<ul>
	<li>Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li>
	<li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li>
	<li>Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.</li>
	<li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.</li>
	<li>Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of clients' financial information.</li>

Proficient with the following:

<ul>
	<li>QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop (Accountant's version)</li>
	<li>Microsoft Suite, including Outlook</li>
	<li>LogMeIn for remote access to the client's desktop</li>
	<li>Payroll platforms such as Paychex, ADP, and Gusto</li>
	<li>Trello for task management and potentially tracking hours</li>
	<li>Box for cloud-based file storage and sharing</li>
