Duties and Responsibilities

<ul>
	<li>Reports directly to Chief Accountant and to the Deputy Comptroller</li>
	<li>Prepares financial reports for Management and government regulatory agencies and other organizations that need financial data.</li>
	<li>Assists in budget development, review and rolling forecast updates as required.</li>
	<li>Checks and analyzes financial statements, financial data, supporting schedules and other accounting reports.</li>
	<li>Verifies check vouchers orders before they are signed by the authorized signatories.</li>

	<li>Prepares bank reconciliation of the company’s bank account.</li>
	<li>Ensures timely and accurate preparation of payroll.</li>

	<li>Monitors in-house concessionaire contracts and reconciles those accounts monthly.</li>

Assistant Chief Accountant

The company started as the Union Steel Plant Division of Bacnotan Cement Industries, Inc. (Bacnotan), a pioneer in the Philippine Cement Industry. It began commercial operations in 1963 with a galvanizing plant in Poro, La Union for the manufacture of Galvanized Iron (GI) sheets, expanding to Ilang, Davao City in 1968 and to Calamba, Laguna in 1990. In 1993, the steel plant was spun off from Bacnotan as a separate business unit, and incorporated as Bacnotan Steel Corporation, later renamed UNION GALVASTEEL CORPORATION (UGC). Job Purpose:

This job is responsible for generating sales of UGC products through selling activities, promotional visits, customer liaison and servicing of prospective and existing customers. Conduct product and company presentations to create awareness and eventually sales. Other functions include market identification and development.

Job Scope:
