Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to offer an Accounts Receivable position at our office in BGC, Philippines and we are recruiting accountants to come on board with us.
Dolman Bateman is a boutique Chartered Accounting firm located in Sydney, Australia, that services a range of clients in small to medium business across numerous industries including construction, eCommerce, hospitality, finance, manufacturing and superannuation. We have recently had a large influx of exciting new businesses, who we will need to service.
We are searching for detail-oriented, analytical Accounts Receivable Professional to assist the department as it receives, processes, and collects on goods sold or services rendered. The Accounts Receivable Professional will work closely with internal departments to onboard new client engagements, ensure that accounts are properly billed and that payments are collected on time. You will also review account information, determine when a client needs to be billed, correct discrepancies, and speak to clients to establish better payment terms.
To succeed as an Accounts Receivable Professional, you should be a skilled and thorough researcher with excellent communication and record keeping skills. You should be detail-oriented, organised, and self-motivated with strong math and computer skills.
Accounts Receivable duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Processing, verifying, and posting receipts for goods sold or services rendered
- Researching and resolving account discrepancies
- Processing and recording transactions
- Maintaining records regarding payments and account statuses
- Maintaining the billing and client management system
- Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up to date
- Working with the collections department to review accounts and client payment and credit history to develop new or better repayment terms
- Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts
- Generating weekly & monthly reports and statements for internal use
- Engaging in ongoing educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in Australian accounting is required, but a Bachelor’s degree isn’t a necessity. However, a degree in the following will allow a candidate to develop their career in accounting further:
- Accounting
- Finance or Economics
- Business Studies or Administration
- Mathematics
Within the Accounts Receivable role, you will need to possess the following skills:
- An ability to prioritise and manage expectations
- A keen eye for detail, with a high level of accuracy
- An ability to work independently
- The ability to communicate articulately and efficiently with other people within the company
- Ability to build relationships with clients
- Excellent research, problem-solving, and time management skills
- A mathematical background
- Typing, and computer skills, especially with Xero software
