Job Description

Zeno is looking for a Data & Insights Analyst, a utility player who has the technical chops but is also business minded and want to solve problems that create growth. This position requires both a strategic and tactical viewpoint, aided by intellectual curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, along with an understanding of digital and traditional media.

As the Data & Insights Analyst, you will be tasked with integrating the use of data and analytics into the communications planning process, as well as being responsible for the development of insights in the areas of channel efficiencies and effectiveness, brand, category and consumer. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the implementation of data visualization platforms and will partner with the strategy and account teams to ensure they are designed to monitor comms performance and KPIs and identify consumer and brand insights.

The Analyst will also be responsible for keeping up with new and innovative data and
measurement capabilities within the industry and developing thought-leadership pieces
evaluating such developments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement all phases of data analytics (data extraction, analysis, manipulation, synthesis & interpretation, and summary) along with the development, validation, testing, and maintenance of analytic tools, models, and algorithms for client projects and operational initiatives
  • Craft dependable automated reports and dashboards to surface key metrics and inform business decisions.
  • Explore data to find actionable insights and make recommendations through cohort analyses, user segmentation, regression models, predictive modeling, long-term trends, etc.
  • Measure the success of a campaign in its impact in achieving the client’s objectives, and constantly seeking ways to improve the accuracy or timeliness of this measurement
  • The use and application of data to build a story that describes how communications impacted business and marketing objectives
  • The use and application of data to understand the behaviors, attitudes and demographics of the consumer
  • Routinely collaborate with the media team to arrive at recommendations supported by data and analytics
  • Gather and transform vast data sets into compelling and actionable insights
  • Build standard and custom visualizations that meet customer parameters while ensuring data validity, statistical integrity, and improving user experience.
  • Develop data architecture, create documentation, and design processes for the onboarding of new data sources
  • Run ad-hoc “what-if scenarios,” simulations, and forecasts to evaluate channel plans
  • Design and execute measurement plans
  • Design and leverage analytical tools and techniques to drive digital growth through optimization
  • Develop and manage targeting and segmentation tools to optimize digital marketing investment
  • Create and maintain key weekly, monthly and special reports, dashboards and analysis using Google Analytics and other audience data capturing tools
  • Collect, compile, and maintain large volumes of custom and syndicated data from disparate sources into a single, concise, and accurate final table
  • Facilitate and/or execute ongoing QA of all existing data sources

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, information management, social sciences or business/marketing related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Digital Analytics actively using analytical tools and techniques (R, Python, SAS, SQL), a quantitative data driven field
  • Ability to clearly explain and summarize technical and analytical information (oral and written) in English
  • Ability to analyze raw data, identify trend drivers, draw conclusions and summarize actionable recommendations
  • Strong exposure to Website Analytics, e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst
  • Extremely detail-oriented and meticulously organized, comfortable aggregating and manipulating large data from multiple channels and sources
  • Experience with and/or ability to learn industry tools and reports, e.g. Nielsen, comScore, Brandwatch, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of online and social media metrics and third-party reporting tools, e.g. Facebook Insights, YouTube Analytics, SocialBakers
  • You are skilled user of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Conditional IF's, etc.)
  • Knowledge of or experience using one or more of the following would be beneficial:
    • Multi-channel attribution analyses
    • Advertising/Marketing technology, e.g. data management platforms, dynamic creative, etc.
    • Third party ad serving platforms, such as Sizmek, or Doubleclick
    • Experience in digital and analog advertising campaign performance evaluation
  • Understands media across all stages (planning, buying, measurement and optimization)
  • Understands common media principles (GRPs, Impressions, Reach/Frequency, ad wearout, SOV/SOM, ROI)
  • Experience or knowledge of changing digital space (programmatic buying, DMPs, viewability, on-target rates, tagging, etc.)
  • Exposure to tagging, tracking and QA
