Job Description
Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSF) is a superannuation trust structure that provides financial remuneration to its members in retirement. Compliance to establish and maintain SMSF's are highly regulated in Australia and has led to significant accounting and audit work for Practitioners. We seek highly skilled and technically competent Intermediate CPA's to be trained on leading SMSF compliance software solutions to pursue a career in this specialist and lucrative field.
SMSF Accounts Preparation:
- End-to-en process of accounting cycle from analyzing transactions to preparation of Financial Statements through Cloud-based accounting flatforms.
- Process bank transactions in the system.
- Process corporate actions such as dividend and distribution reinvestment plans, share split, and options.
- Reconcile accounts
- GL and Trial Balance Analysis
- Analysis of Investment portfolios
- Analysis of tax transactions
- Analysis of source documents related to investments and expenses.
- Summarize queries and prepare working papers
SMSF Audit:
- Upload or import documents and reports in the online audit software.
- Ensure correctness and accuracy of the Trial Balance imported or entered in the system.
- Ensure completeness of the reports and documents needed to commence the audit.
- Audit the Financial Statements, Annual Return, Member Statements as well as Compliance Audit
- Collaborate with the audit manager regarding any missing documents and/ or issues encountered during the audit.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant
- Willing to learn and develop skills in SMSF Audit and Accounts Preparation
- Advanced research skills
- High Attention to detail
- Advanced analytical skills
- Fast learner
- Able to multi-task
- Can work under pressure
Candidate Experience:
- Experience in bookkeeping and accounts preparation (required)
- Experience in Financial Statements Audit will be highly regarded
- Knowledge and experience in Accounting and Audit of Hedge funds (Pensions) and Investments will be highly regarded
- Accounting and auditing skills
- Knowledge in Cloud accounting and auditing platforms
