Job Description
Key responsibilities involve:
- Prepare and review personal income tax returns for individuals which includes but not limited to employees, business schedules, and rental properties.
- Declare income from all sources.
- Input dividends, distributions, and any associated franking credits.
- Input any allowable deductions.
- Prepare business schedules and reconciliation of all income and expenses, if any.
- Prepare rental schedule including depreciation schedules thereon, if any.
- Prepare motor vehicle schedule, if any
- Prepare and calculate capital gains on disposal of assets, if any.
- Prepare and review of financial statements, tax returns, and BAS / IAS for companies, trusts, partnerships, and superannuation funds.
- Analyze ledger data/ledger scrutiny.
- Prepare and reconcile all bank, loan, GST related items, asset register/depreciation schedules, etc.
- Reconcile ATO ICA, ATO ITA, and BAS' lodged.
- Prepare BAS/IAS (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
- Prepare monthly management reports for review.
- Do regular data entry and bookkeeping of client’s records.
- Prepare and compile all documents and Workpapers required.
- Collabore with Australian Tax Agent Partner/Manager.
- Handle other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- Professional License (Passed Board License Exam).
- At least 3 years of work experience in the related field.
- Experience in modern cloud accounting software such as Xero, Xero Practice Manager, Sage HandiTax, and HandiLedger will be highly regarded.
- Experienced in providing accounting services to a portfolio of clients will also be highly regarded.
- Experienced in multi-client service environment.
- Can demonstrate ability to engage with clients, mainly through email.
- Strong English – both written and verbal to correspond to Australian clients.
- Dynamic personality that can adapt to fast paces growth environment.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning in Accounting, Technology, and Business process.
- Team-oriented.
