XSEED Education, an innovative Singapore-based education company, is entering the Philippines and we are looking to hire a Country Sales & Operations Manager based in Manila (NCR) to work closely with the executive team based in Singapore to establish XSEED’s market presence and grow the business nationwide.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual with B2B sales experience who can provide on-ground leadership on all aspects of our local country operations in the Philippines. This person will be thrive in an ambiguous, fast paced environment and enjoy getting involved in all aspects of the business including sales, operations, customer service and marketing.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to build the country operations of an innovative education business from the ground up while making a positive social impact on primary and secondary education nationwide.
Duties and Responsibilities
Take XSEED to 1,000 schools in the Philippines with personal sales responsibility for the first 100:
- Build a robust sales pipeline of schools nationwide with guidance and support from XSEED’s executive team
- Organize local conferences, seminars and marketing events for customers and industry participants
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for identifying early adopters and building concentrated local networks of XSEED schools across the country
Build a team:
- Work alongside potential local XSEED partners or independently (as the case may be) to hire, train and develop a local sales and customer service team
- Develop and sustain a team culture based on XSEED’s values that attracts and retains top talent
Manage the business:
- Assist in establishing XSEED’s legal presence in the Philippines
- Develop and maintain a complete vendor ecosystem (accounting, finance, legal, HR, marketing, supply chain etc.)
- Develop annual budgets, sales targets and KPI’s for the Philippines business and direct reports
- Create a robust market intelligence capability to stay current on market trends, competition (local & foreign) and potential collaboration opportunities with other businesses or organizations
- Maintain an active awareness of the legal and regulatory environment in the Philippines
- Periodically travel to XSEED’s markets (particularly India) to gain on-ground understanding of XSEED’s product, sales process and operating business model
Skills
- Demonstrated ability pitch and close a complex B2B solution sale; communication and negotiation skills are essential
- Demonstrated ability to lead a sales team some of whom will be based in the field
- Ability to manage operational commercial functions hands-on (e.g. logistics, shipment, invoicing, basic accounting, administration, regulatory etc.)
- Ability and confidence to handle senior partner and vendor relationships
Experience
- Strong background in complex B2B sales (healthcare, IT, software, industrial machinery, media etc.) and interfacing directly with customers across the entire sales process from initial meeting to closing of a deal
- P&L experience strongly preferred with a familiarity with finance, accounting, legal, operations and customer service
- International experience and cross-cultural sensitivity in order to interface with international colleagues
- Progressive leadership experience in a commercial role
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience – both large and small company experience preferred
- Bachelor Degree, Masters (M.A., MBA, LLM, JD) preferred from leading local or foreign universities
- Ability to travel (up to 50%)
