Java Application Support Engineer  

Your role will be to support a banking system that we built from scratch. Tech stack you'll be working with is not legacy, but built from Java Spring, with React JS as the front end.

The job will entail a deep understanding of backend systems, database systems, and integration to other existing systems to be able to proactively support the application.

Support Tasks would include:

• Working as Technical Support/Developer/Maintenance Engineer/Code Integration Engineer.
• Acting as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting.
• Translating requirements into code for new or existing applications and projects.
• Developing original, intricate code and simplifying when feasible to improve maintainability.
• Create Technical design documents.
• Participating in system and user acceptance testing tasks as assigned
• Providing technical consultation and support in the development of computer applications and programs.
• Analyzing business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign computer solutions. -Developing original and/or complex code or provides coding guidance to less experienced staff.
• Leads and/or performs modeling, simulations and analysis efforts.
• Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of program

Sometimes there will be development tasks as well.

Development Tasks would include:

• Database creation, integration, and management—e.g., MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Using back-end frameworks to build server-side software, like Express.js
• Web Server technologies—e.g., J2EE, Apache, Nginx (popular for static content, like images, HTML or CSS files), or IIS
• API integration
• Security settings and hack prevents
• Reporting—generating analytics and statistics like system reports of server load, number of visitors, geography of visitors, etc.

Backup and restore technologies for website’s files and DB.
Collaboration and code reviews in Git
Agile development

• 2-years experience with Java
• 1-year experience with Java Spring MVC framework
• 1-year experience with development of REST APIs.
• Had architect and structured at least 1 big application from scratch.
• Working knowledge of software quality assurance practices, including automated builds, deploying assemblies, web distribution methods, content control and deployment testing.

• Experience developing End-to-end Test cases/execution
• Intermediate knowledge of single-page app JS frameworks such as React JS, Vue JS or Angular 2 onwards
• Intermediate knowledge of JS, HTML, CSS
• Knows at least 2 other languages (PHP, NodeJS, Rails, Python, Erlang, GoLang, etc.) and 2 MVC frameworks of any language other than Sprint
• Willing to work in Ortigas for at least 6 months.
