Lead Back End Developer  

Your role will be to lead a development team that will create a backend system from ground up. The backend will provide REST API's to be consumed by mobile and web clients.

The job will entail deep understanding of backend systems, database systems, and integration to other existing systems.

Leadership Tasks are as follows:

• Becomes the contact person of the Project Manager and client.
• Delegates tasks to other Developers.
• Provides mentorship to the team as the Lead Developer.
• Takes over the tasks of the members if they cannot do it.
• Polishes the work of the Developers, and makes sure the whole project gets delivered.

Development Tasks would include:

• Database creation, integration, and management—e.g., MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Using back-end frameworks to build server-side software, like Express.js
• Web Server technologies—e.g., J2EE, Apache, Nginx (popular for static content, like images, HTML or CSS files), or IIS
• Cloud computing integration—e.g., public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, or private cloud environments
• Server-side programming languages—like Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby, and JavaScript, when implemented with the server-side development environment, Node.js
• Operating systems: Linux- and Unix-like operating systems, MacOS X, Windows Server
• Content management system (CMS) development, deployment, and maintenance
• API integration
• Security settings and hack prevents
• Reporting—generating analytics and statistics like system reports of server load, number of visitors, geography of visitors, etc.
• Backup and restore technologies for website’s files and DB.
• Collaboration and code reviews in Git
• Agile development

Candidates with extensive experience in developing backend from scratch (as oppossed to maintenance/enhancements) are strongly preferred.

• 3 years experience with Javascript.
• 3 years experience with PHP Laravel.
• 2 years experience with development of REST APIs.
• Had architect and structured at least 2 big applications from scratch.
• Knows at least 3 languages (NodeJS, Rails, Python, Erlang, GoLang, etc.) and 3 MVC frameworks.
• Intermediate knowledge in front-end technologies like Angular or React, and HTML / CSS conversion.
• Willing to work in Ortigas for at least 6 months.
