Minimum Qualifications:

Job Description

VICE Indonesia is seeking a Media Planner (MP), which is a mid-level role within our growing Media Department. Media Planners work collaboratively with their respective teams and across disciplines to create concept plans and outline strategies/tactics for client campaigns. MP’s report to the Media Supervisor on their respective account, but work closely will all team members. MPs are responsible for planning, negotiating, and purchasing media that will help to achieve overall client goals. From launch phase to campaign wrap-up, Media Planners work hand-in-hand with Biddable Media, Client Engagement, Account Management, Creative, and Client teams. They will also mentor and train Assistant Media Planners, and have opportunities to engage Media Interns. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who champions teamwork and cutting-edge ideation above all else. Media Planners are always executing, innovating, and connecting with others, be it internally, or externally with our valued partners and clients.

  • Analyze multiple sources of external data to assist in planning and buying decisions
  • Evaluate editorial content and audience composition of a wide range of media vehicles to determine which would most effectively reach target audience
  • Research and record trends, innovations and changes that affect media buying
  • Regularly meet with vendors to weigh benefits of services, offerings and overall partnership potential
  • Research and understand core consumer and target media behaviors


  • Confer with Client, Client Engagement, Biddable Media and Account Management teams to establish media goals, objectives, and strategies for advertising campaign
  • Calculate reach and frequency of potential media vehicles
  • Gather statistics and prepare media plan to guide buying process
  • Negotiate best price for media space or time, as specified in approved media plan, to optimize budget


  • Collaborate with team and other departments to craft media presentations
  • Walk Client Engagement and Account Management through presentations and make adjustments as necessary prior to client meetings
  • Present media plans to client as needed/required


  • Buy negotiated media space, commercial time, or site placement
  • Perform campaign analysis directly relevant to optimization and/or planning and buying decisions
  • Monitor media agreements and contracts with outside media vendors
  • Monitor media for placement and time discrepancies and negotiates credit or billing adjustments when necessary
  • Responsible for the preparation of Insertion Orders and placement of advertising with media vehicle


  • Act as a digital media expert for assigned clients and Client Service team, including planning and buying of media
  • Consult with Biddable Media team to leverage paid search and social as part of a comprehensive plan when appropriate
  • Analyze media plan reporting with Account Management and assist in the creation of wrap-up presentations
  • Assist in training and mentorship of Assistant Media Planners
