Java Web Developer  

• Develop modules using KANA Enterprise application and appropriate tools, including collaboration in requirement definition, prototyping design, coding and testing.
• Learn to appropriately use of Kana Out of the box functionality and where necessary extend the framework using current best practice.
• Be aware of project business aims as well as Kana project implementation requirements
• Provide input to and review project Impact Assessment and Change Control collateral
• Align to Technical System Specification
• Adhere to Technical Best Practice defined by Principal & Technical Architect
• Challenge Requirements through appropriate channels
• Keep up to date with changes to the Kana Enterprise Application.
• Conform to the project non-functional requirements for performance, throughput, robustness, scalability etc.
• Ensure delivery meets acceptance criteria
• Complete unit testing and code reviews on modules prior to becoming release candidates
• Accurate maintenance of defect states, thereby facilitating accurate statistical gathering
• Communication of status of defect fixes, issues and concerns to the Test team and/or project manager
• Co-ordinating the release of new software into the testing environments including release notes
• Input detailed defect reports in Defect Tracking Software during testing phase
• Provide an accurate view of development progress to Team Leader / Project Manager
• Communicate regularly with the team leader, team mates and also the clients

Qualifications:

• Software Engineering qualification

Skills and Knowledge: (technologies, software, etc.)

• Experience configuring and using any or all of the following highly desirable:
  • Kana process development
  • J2SE/J2EE
  • Spring Framework
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, Java Script, etc)
  • Knowledge and skills in spring framework would be beneficiary
  • • Java Tools & Scripting (Eclipse Ant, Maven, Cron, etc)
    • Application Server (JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere)
    • Working knowledge in database such as Oracle and SQL Server
    • Versioning Control software (SVN, CVS, Git)
  • Demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation and deployment tasks
  • Proficiency developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run in mixed-environments including Linux, Unix and/or Windows
  • Experience in Software Development Lifecycle, especially Agile Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Software design pattern (test driven development)
