Guidance Counselor  

The guidance counselor provides guidance and counseling to students with the help of data from psychological tests and inputs from teachers and parents. He attends to the personal and psycho-emotional needs of the students in relation to their academic performance and total formation in general.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Calls students for guidance and counseling in order to look into the students’ academic and personal needs and concerns through individual counseling or group counseling and prepares the appropriate documentation for these
• Organizes functional and suitable guidance and counseling program
• Formulates guidance and counseling forms including individual inventory, agreement forms
• Administers and interprets individual and group psychological and projective tests
• Designs and manages teachers’ training on guidance-related topics enhancing their skills in effective pupil management
• Provides effective individual and group counseling
• Identifies student’s needs and problems
• Makes an action research based on the result of the identification of students’ needs and problems
• Confers with parents whenever necessary and conducts case conferences whenever appropriate
• Maintains and updates the students’ individual records
• Performs any other such duties as may be required by the position

• Candidates must possess a Bachelor's/College Degree in Psychology or related field
• Minimum 1 year work experience in the field of guidance and counselling is preferred
• Knowledgeable and competent in different counselling techniques
• Passionate about counselling and loves working with kids
• Independent and a self-starter, can work with minimal supervision
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal
• Excellent presentation skills
• Well-versed in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Willing to work in BGC, Taguig
