Job Description
We are currently searching for a Network and Computer Systems Administrator to provide operational support to all staff of UTP and clients of Work/With, a soon-to-be-launched co-working space. Successful candidates should have excellent customer service skills and must be outcome-oriented. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail is essential.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
- Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
- Analyze equipment performance records in order to determine the need for repair or replacement.
- Oversee maintenance and proper use of all company equipment, such as laptops, printers, photocopying machines, etc.
- Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
- Maintain an up-to-update an inventory of all deployed equipment along with their comprehensive details (model, serial number, date bought, purchase price, etc.)
- Issue equipment to new employees in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of Daily Time Record report if needed.
- Train people in computer system use. Increase staff knowledge in proper usage and maintenance of laptops and other office equipment by sending tips, reminders, etc.
- Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases.
Minimum Qualifications
- A graduate of a 4-year course in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related course
- Fresh graduates with minimum 1-year experience in a similar position
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN)
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Must know how to deal with all types of people with all sorts of personalities
- Must have good time-management skills and know how to prioritize
- Having a cheerful disposition and a great sense of humor is a plus
