Job Description
Your day-to-day activities:
- You will be responsible for the documentation, development and testing of various components of the travelbook.ph website as well as several related internal web-based applications (i.e. Server/Client web app and backend APIs developed mainly in Java and some in PHP).
- You will be providing technical support for the day-to-day operations and usage of travelbook.ph website and internal web-based applications, including but not limited to applying immediate production bug fixes and supporting various departments in addressing user-related queries about technical issues regarding the website and internal web-based applications.
- You will be collaborating with other Web App Developers, Mobile App Developers, and Product/Marketing counterparts for platform specific functions and interfaces to implement and develop the product visions and function requirements to life as well as gauging technical constraints and feasibility.
Minimum Qualifications
You’re the one we have been looking for if:
- You have experience in core Java development (J2EE/J2SE), mainly of web-based Server-Client applications using RESTful APIs.
- You have basic to advanced model-view-controller (MVC) frameworks (e.g. Struts, Spring) development knowledge.
- You are capable of creating SQL queries and manipulating databases (Oracle, MySQL, and/or MariaDB).
- You have basic knowledge of standard test terms and principle (white-box and black-box testing, unit testing, integration testing, system testing).
- You are capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- You are willing to learn new technologies and approaches. You have an analytical mind and good problem-solving aptitude. You have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- You are an excellent team player.
Added Values:
- You have experience with code versioning software like GIT.
- You have additional knowledge in any of the following: HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery/AJAX, JSON, XML/SOAP, PHP/WordPress development, Web Server technologies (Apache, Tomcat, NginX, Wildfly).
Education / Work Experience Requirements:
- Graduate from one of the top universities in the Philippines of a 4 or 5-year course related to software development (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any related course).
- At least 1-4 years working experience in related field (Java-based Web Application Development). Fresh graduates with high aptitude and good training potential may also be considered.
