Job Description

The Chief Accountant provides overall management and leadership to the Accounting team in its day-to-day operations. He/she shall be primarily responsible for overseeing accounting transactions and activities, communicating to Management and/or resolving promptly accounting-related issues and concerns, and ensuring that all TDG accounting policies and procedures are implemented or complied with. He/she shall also be in charge of the timely preparation of financial and management accounting reports for the Board of Directors, Management, and other regulatory bodies.

Partners and collaborates with Management in setting the direction in the development or improvement of the different transactional, administrative, and operational plans and services of the Accounting department

Develops and provides support in the company’s financial/budget planning process (short, medium, and long term)

Facilitates the Business Planning process in the department/assigned teams.

Reports to MC/Top management the company’s actual financial and operating performance vis-à-vis budget and other key financial performance indicators.

Communicates and works consultatively with the respective department heads on accounting-related initiatives (eg budget preparation/analysis, costs monitoring, variance analysis, etc)

Cascades important information discussed during the Management Committee meetings to all department members/assigned teams

Accomplishes business objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating operational activities in the following key areas:

Manages and oversees the development and the operation of an effective system of accounting procedures and budgetary control over the financial transactions of the Company, including the formulation of relevant objectives, policies, system, and procedures where the accounting functions are involved.

Ensures compliance to various accounting/financial report requirements such as

financial statements and reports (eg P&L, AR, AP, cash flow, etc)

regulatory/statutory reports (eg BIR, LGUs, SSS/PhilHealth/Pag-Ibig, SEC, etc)

Annual/monthly operating budget of the MC

3rd party billings and payments (eg suppliers, vendors, etc)

Prepares financial or budget projections of new investments or business projects in the company, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Ensures that internal control measures governing accounting functions are being followed, including approval and disbursements of budget

Provides administrative and technical support to the OCFO in ensuring that intercompany financial or accounting transactions are complied with or in line with groupwide policies.

Maintains relationship with external business partners such as banks and vendors

Monitors the effectiveness of existing work methods and processes in his/her department in order to continually improve or enhance efficiency and productivity

Regularly monitors direct report’s performance through the conduct of regular and timely performance evaluation as well as coaching sessions appropriate to the needs of the individual (to improve performance, correct bad behavior, or further success).

Ensures that each direct report has an Individual Development Plan (IDP).

Prioritizes and aligns the activities of the assigned teams given current and/or changing company/division/cluster/corporate goals and directions

Selects or identifies the appropriate metrics to drive the intended behavior and performance results among members of the department or his/her assigned team

Minimum Qualifications

1. Candidate must be a graduate of BS Accountancy

Preferred: Graduate Degree (MBA / MM/Masters in accountancy)

2. More than 3 years work experience in the same capacity as Chief Accountant, or at least 2 years experience as Asst Chief Accountant or Accounting Manager.

3. Candidate must have a background on logisitics
