Job Description
The Recruitment Specialist (Language Assessor & Coach is primarily responsible for evaluating an applicant’s English communication skills proficiency based on standards set and approved by the Company. This may also involve assessment of a candidate’s suitability within a specific campaign. The Recruitment Specialist is part of the Talent Acquisition team, and would closely work with the Recruitment team in ensuring that assessments are properly administered and have been successfully completed by the candidate. The Recruitment Specialist , from time to time, will be working closely with the Training team for collaboration on training near hire candidates. The Recruitment Specialist may undergo certification with the Training team on courses, such as, but not limited to, culture training, product training, language training. The Recruitment Specialist must ensure that he or she is calibrated with the functional teams required to produce the right hire for the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assessments Administration
- Follow a set of guidelines in evaluating an applicant’s communication skills and competencies. This may also apply for internal applicants who are applying for positions within the company
- Maintain calibration targets to ensure that a set standards are being followed
- Maintain the number of heads targeted to be processed during a set timeframe
2. Facilitation
- Facilitate pre-process training, short training intervention, and other training programs, as needed.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis; Root-cause Analysis, and provide sound recommendations for training and non-training interventions
- Facilitate training and calibration sessions within the team and/or near hire candidates
3. Professionalism and Customer Service
- Should be familiar with the basic skills required for the positions that the company is targeting to hire
- Be familiar with client requirements and assess applicants based on the profiles identified
- Interact with all applicants with the respect that is expected of all Transcom employees
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Prepares and submits program reports, as required, in a timely manner.
- Accurately documents the scores obtained or the performance notes based on the interactions conducted.
- Be able to conduct simple analytics based on observations
5. Understand and improve the Key Success Metrics
- Regularly calibrate with the recruitment, operations and training teams
- Understand the operations metrics that get influenced by communication skills and correlate the observations gathered
Minimum Qualifications
- Highly proficient in the English language
- Have displayed proven competency in using the language either through interviews, impromptu speeches or presentations
- Must have a minimum of 2 years training experience in a BPO setting.
- Experience on doing interviews or selection process is an advantage
- Must have at least 1 year experience facilitating training on communications, foundation and/or culture training
- Experience in coaching on accent and grammar is an advantage
- Knowledge and experience in training needs analysis, design and development, and training evaluation.
- Knowledgeable in CEFR and English Language Assessment Tools
- Strong organizational skills and have the ability to manage priorities
- Has the ability to work efficiently either as part of the team or individually
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to deliver clear, concise information and direction to partners and internal teams
- Must be highly flexible in taking on tasks to ensure the team’s delivery of targets
