Job Description
- Responsible for bidding the electricity output of the generating plants into the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) on an hourly, day-ahead, week-ahead and real-time electricity market.
- Analyzes data on optimization of plant output vis-à-vis constraints in plant operations for maximized revenues.
- Submits regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to the Trading Manager, with analyses on the results of the market trading activities to consider possible improvements on future deals.
- Monitors, analyzes and coordinates the status of WESM energy market, including competitor’s probable offering behavior and strategy to come up with competitive market offers for the approval of the Trading Manager and the Management.
- Prepares and recommends weekly strategic and structured pricing offers for both price and quantity that would maximize revenue against competition, market prices, product costs, short-term risks and opportunity costs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related business field
- With at least 1 year experience in trading, preferably in a power industry
- Has excellent mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to make time-critical decisions for energy supply
- With knowledge and familiarity in Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) trading protocols
- Good in oral and written communication
- Willing to be based in Pampanga
