Job Description
To identify, monitor, and report computer security incidents within the Telos and Teloworks environments and help ensure a positive information security posture for both organizations.
To provide first level support for security-related incidents.
- Security-related tasks
- Monitors security alerts, (system) health sensors, and InfoSec tool uptimes.
- Monitors suspicious traffic coming in or out the organizations’ networks.
- Performs initial threat response: bans malicious files and blocks malicious IPs.
- Monitors security alerts to prevent unapproved software installation and other potentially malicious activities.
- SPAM e-mail management: receives reports, analyzes incidents, educates users.
- Sets machine policies to the appropriate level of enforcement.
- Escalates or reports issues to the appropriate personnel, as needed.
- Forwards issues to Tier-2 as appropriate.
- Others
- Works different shift schedules (0700H – 1600H, 1100H – 2000H, 1400H – 2300H) and on PH holidays
- Attends meetings, as required.
- May report on non-regular working hours, as needed.
- Performs other duties as requested and within areas of expertise.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering
- With one (1) to three (3) years’ experience related to Information Technology-related or computer-related work
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of computer security and incident response
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of information security concepts and practices
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of internet and IT concepts and practices
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of security applications
- Basic knowledge of network architecture best practices
- Basic knowledge of firewall configuration
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, LDAP, VPN
- Basic computer system troubleshooting skills
- Soft skills
- Good analytical skills; keen attention to detail
- Good research skills; is resourceful and persevering
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Good team player; has the ability to work in and with teams
