UX Specialist | Mid-level  

Job Objective:

• To create satisfying and compelling experiences for users of our products, drawing from user research and workflow analysis.
• To translate UX/UI designs into software, when needed.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Reviews Requirements Detail Package (RDPs).
  • Analyzes requirements to determine which enhancements would need wireframes.
  • Assesses and provides estimates for the wireframing and/or prototyping efforts, including requirement analysis and review sessions.
  • Works closely with the Business Analysts (BAs) and other project team members to understand requirement goals and objectives.
  • Analyzes user feedback and activity to come up with designs that enhance user experience.
  • Assesses Level of Effort (LOE) for completing assigned design tasks and identifies impact of requirements modification on assigned tasks
• Creates Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Shows possible future product features.
  • Suggests enhancements to existing features to address customer pain points.
  • Suggests enhancement to improve competitiveness of products.
  • Provides assistance to BAs in developing the RDPs, when needed.
• Creates and updates Visual Requirements Detail Package (VRDPs).
  • Conceptualizes original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Creates designs using wireframing tools and design tools based on RDPs.
  • Creates wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, site maps, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Collaborates with team members to define and implement innovative solutions and deliver quality designs for the assigned tasks.
  • Ensures designs capture the requirements.
  • Performs wireframe design presentations to the project team and updates designs as necessary based on changes agreed upon and approved by the UX Manager.
  • Performs wireframe design walkthroughs with the Development, Quality Assurance and Documentation teams to ensure proper understanding and to address any questions.
  • Ensures deliverables follows standards, process and policies.
• Works closely with the Development team to discuss technical challenges in the UI design to come up with solutions without compromising the integrity of the VRDPs.
• Works closely with the different project teams to address questions regarding the VRDPs and design best practices.
• Works with Design System Architect to help maintain the Design Systems (DS).
  • Creates, updates, and tests components, patterns, and templates in the projects’ design system.
  • Conceptualizes, designs, and ensures readability of icons and/or in-app illustrations as part of the UI.
  • Collaborates with the team in coming up with typography/text styles, color styles, and layout rules.
  • Documents new or updated items in the DS to inform the UX team on its usage in VRDPs.
  • Actively reports and monitors issues and bugs in the DS.
• Communication and Status Reporting
  • Prepares accomplishment reports for documentation and monitoring.
  • Reports issues or problems encountered in a timely manner.
• Ensures timely delivery of different project milestones.
• Develops user experience roadmaps for the product suite together with the UX Manager and UX Designers.
• Conducts research on UX/UI best practices, latest design tools, and innovative designs to ensure the the team’s design guidelines, best practices and standards are up to date.
• Assists the UX manager in all UX/UI related tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree in any Information Technology-related or computer-related courses
• With at least three (3) years’ experience as Web Designer or UX/UI Designer

Technical Skills:

• Intermediate knowledge of general UX/UI subjects or best practices
• Intermediate knowledge of interactive design
• Intermediate knowledge of graphic design
• Intermediate knowledge of wireframing and web design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision)
• Advanced knowledge & experience with Figma and Design Systems, including latest features like Variants, Auto Layout, and Prototyping
• Intermediate knowledge of Web Design (Mobile-First Design and Responsive Design)
• Intermediate knowledge of graphical design tools (Adobe Product Suite)
• Intermediate knowledge of Web Development tools (Visual Studio code, Chrome DevTools, Sublime Text, GitHub, and Eclipse IDE)
• Intermediate knowledge of Web Development (HTML5, CSS3, XML, JavaScript, TypeScript)
• Intermediate knowledge of Web Development libraries (Angular, React, Bootstrap, jQuery, Sass)
• Intermediate knowledge of Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and/or USA Section 508 compliance standards
• Intermediate knowledge of conceptual data modelling
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Product Suite
• Intermediate knowledge of enterprise apps development
• Knowledge in NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Knowledge in Cybersecurity risk management solutions
• Intermediate knowledge of Cloud computing
