Job Description
- Basic knowledge of a multi-tiered distributed architecture, including LAN/WAN concepts, TCP/IP, DNS and firewalls is required.
- Programming and scripting capabilities are highly desirable.
- Unix Support: In-depth Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in Solaris, AIX or Linux OS administration, including the ability to alter and rebuild Kernel.
- Proficiency of High Availability software products such as Symantec/Veritas, Advanced knowledge of SAN and TCP/IP; demonstrated proficiency in Shell and Perl scripting.
- Must have demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service and an aptitude to work directly with business partners to deliver quality solutions on schedule.
- Must have the ability to convey ideas and concepts to others in order to be influential in determining preferred solutions.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Fluent communications, both written and oral, are critical elements to successful production support. Must be able to perform routine tasks on a regular basis without prompting.
- Must have good organizational skills and the ability to work under limited direction.
- Must have the ability to independently perform in-depth technical research.
- Experience of working within an Agile Delivery Environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to work and perform equally well when working independently, in teams, or as part of a larger coordinated onshore/ offshore workgroup.
- College degree, preferably in Computer Science or similar, 3+ years IT experience including 1+ year working in medium to large data centers and enterprise environment supporting infrastructure and Operating Systems or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience equal to 4 - 7 years.
- A basic technical knowledge and understanding of the installation, support, maintenance of Operating Systems, management and security software.
