Job Description
- Use knowledge of the payment system domain, POS terminal application development expertise, as well as proprietary processor’s host specifications, transaction flow functionalities, transaction options, and ad-hoc settings
- Develop and unit test POS terminal application modules
- Perform continuous update of payment applications based on proprietary Verifone platforms, APIs, frameworks and EMV (EuropayMastercard and Visa) roadmaps
- Under team lead direction, conceptualize & Design POS terminal application software modules
- Work with SQA to perform verification and defect fixing of POS terminal application software modules
- Perform simple to complex development tasks; solves a broad range of problems of varying scope or complexity involving proprietaryTrident and Engage terminals
- Identify risks, risk mitigation plan, and dependencies to deliver work estimates and validated delivery plans
- Perform functional and technical specification analysis, creation, modifications, and updates as needed
- Determine and develop approaches to assignments
- Work under general supervision
- Deliverables must meet quality standards set by the organization and on schedule
- Quickly learn and come up to speed on Verifone platforms, operating systems, frameworks and APIs, and terminal software architecture
- Develop prototype and proof of concept applications for new requirements
- Perform coding as projects as dictated
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to product functional specification, maintainability, extensibility and quality objectives
- Apply and adhere to established engineering process
- Ensure all output is securely stored in central electronic repository
- Provide regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies/Engineering or higher degree
- 5-8 years solid programming experience in C and C++ (e.g., mastery of pointers, OOP programming a must)
- At least 3 years’ experience in payment terminal SW development a major plus
- Must have at least 2 years team leadership experience
- At least a year experience in business analysis and writing functional specifications preferred but not required
- Experience with BPEL, WSDL, JSON, XML/HTML preferred
- Must have SQL programming knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with remote supervision
- Strong Application Development background in an embedded platform
- Good knowledge and understanding of POS terminal application development
- Good understanding of Security key management, ISO8583 standards
- Good understanding of SDLC, CMMI
- Familiarity with technologies like EMV contact and contactless, NFC and mobile payments
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS certifications, EMV ATM & POS Certification with Visa & MasterCard and EMV Certification on VSDC & M/CHIP
- Proven ability to learn Verifone platforms, operating systems, frameworks and APIs, and terminal software architecture
- Good understanding of SCM tools, use, branching and merging strategy
- Must be willing to work in BGC Taguig or UP Techno Hub
