QA Specialist for Developer | Non BPO Related  

We’re looking for QA specialists who are passionate about constantly exceeding customer expectations by delivering high-quality products and services that work flawlessly. We need someone with good development knowledge and a background in writing automation scripts for various web and mobile apps. Basically, we want someone to test, break and tear apart what our developers have built without mercy.

For this position, your responsibilities include identifying and developing test cases, facilitation of test execution and defect management activities, and regular reporting of status and issues to our Project Manager.

Ideally, QA Specialist will develop robust test automation utilizing open source test automation tools to increase reliability of software releases. Automation scripts will be written in Selenium or Appium and then integrated with Jenkins. As for the test cases, you will need to know how to write cases using Codeception.

Responsibilities

• Builds an Automation framework from using open source tools and Selenium Java
• Manages the QA/UAT version control branches with Git
• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create and execute functional and regression automation test scripts• Collaborate with Project Manager to understand system requirements, use cases, and performance considerations
• Identify and categorize internal and external customer product feedback into defects, issues, or enhancements

Primary responsibilities

• Perform tests on computer applications to isolate and solve issues.
• Record and document results and compare to expected results.
• Detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
• Generate historical analysis of test results.
• Document anomalies and issues.
• Maintain database of software defects.
• Examine code and execution of code in various environments.
• Verify specific action or function of code.
• Provide application instructions for users.
• Develop and document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
• Create meaningful error handling procedures for application code.
• Ensure compliance with general programming best practices, accepted web standards and those standards set forth by upstream sources.
• Participate in application planning meetings.
• Ensure data integrity standards.
• Perform reviews, walkthroughs, or inspections.

Technical Responsibilities

• Initiates tests, analyzes results, and finds solutions to technical problems
• Design and executive test plans on computer applications.
• Perform application security audits.
• Implement application designs, create queries, scripts, web pages and other deliverables.
• Operate and maintain test networks.

Communication Responsibilities:

• Maintain constant, clear communication with colleagues about project issues
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
• Understands how to tactfully communicate difficult/sensitive information
• Provides project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Other Responsibilities:

Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

• Experienced in Release Management, Triage bugs for build release cycle, and production readiness including updating the release documents
• Experienced with any of the Continuous Integration (CI) Tools like Jenkins, Buildbot, CircleCI, Bamboo, and Semaphore.
• Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience as Automation Tester, managing Automation framework, CI tools, and automated testing of software-based applications;
• Experienced in creating Automation framework with C#\Selenium webdriver from scratch;
• Knowledge of creating test cases in Codeception;
• Expert coding in either Javascript, Python, or C#;
• Experienced in QA Integration tools/ Selenium, Visual Studio Ultimate, Nunit, Cucumber, Postman, Xcode, Android Studio, Charles, etc;
• Solid Knowledge in an Agile/Scrum and Software Development Lifecycle SDLC and STLC;
• Expert knowledge of software QA methodologies, automated testing tools, and processes;
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work as a team member in a diverse and dynamic work environment.
• Can cope with fast-paced environments, deployment cycles, and tight deadlines.
