Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a sales professional with the unique ability to identify and qualify the right Clients for StraightArrow. He or she is responsible for establishing business relationships with the right Clients, from all lead sources including their own networks, further qualifying Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL’s), facilitating the pilot project phase, preparing proposals, closing sales contracts and agreements and effectively turning over the management of these contracts and relationships to our Operations Team.

Core Functions
1. Build a strong pipeline of sales qualified leads by:

  • Effectively engaging marketing qualified leads in Discovery Calls within set TATs;
  • Attend and participate relevant “Prospect-rich” events and associations;
  • Setting appointments with prospective Clients for face-to-face Discovery
  • Meetings during Business Development Roadshows;
  • Engaging existing Key Accounts for referrals.
  • Measurable: Pipeline value; Value of outstanding proposals; Number of proposals received by prospects

2. Prepare outstanding and relevant Proposals:

  • Prepares relevant and competitive Proposals for New Business Clients;
  • Deliver presentations in line with the Proposal (as needed);
  • Negotiate terms of engagement;
  • Win identified proposals for StraightArrow.

3. Achieve Sales Targets by closing long-term/recurring revenue contracts with the right Clients:

  • Prepare well thought-out, strategic and profitable proposals and contracts, working with StraightArrow’s Operations Group, Finance Team, Legal Team and others as needed;
  • Effectively negotiate MSA and SOW terms with prospective Clients to close profitable engagement contracts;

4. Transition new Clients to the Operations Team:

  • Classify Clients as KA, KDA or RA;
  • Completely populate Hubspot Account pages with relevant information;
  • Ensuring that the right team is assigned to support the Client;
  • Conduct effective new account briefings to Operations Teams;
  • Introduce the Operations Team to Client over a face-to-face or virtual meeting.

5. Gather helpful information throughout the performance of his/her function and feed the information back to Marketing, Operations and other members of StraightArrow with the end in view of continuing to improve our effectiveness in engaging with the right Clients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / College Degree
  • At least 3 years of sales experience in the Outsourcing, Finance/Insurance, Advertising or Digital Marketing industries, specifically selling to clients or customers outside of the Philippines
  • Strong experience in key account management, SLA management and knowledge on basic commercial contracts and agreements
  • With a broad understanding of marketing, sales and operations
  • Technologically savvy and is familiar with using the most common CRM tools
  • Willing to travel within and outside the Philippines for meetings and business development roadshows 2x a year that may last from 1-2 months
  • Amenable to follow 10AM-7PM work schedule (may shift from time to time depending on client needs) in Pasig City
