Job Description
A highly motivated, self-driven individual that will be able to work well independently and as well as within a team. Will have to plan, develop, test, and document RPG programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems. There is a lot of potential wokring with new technologies, so this individual must be comfortable with learning new tools and is eager to expand their skill set.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of development experience with IBM AS400/iSeries Environment
- 5+ years of experience programming with RPG; RPG IV or RPG ILE preferred
- Experience with design, programming, and application maintenance
- Experience with SQL queries/statements
- Ability to communicate effectiely in writing and speaking
- Experience in Retail and JDA systems is a plus
- Must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business degree, similar major, or equivalent business experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Codes new RPG programs and modifies or enhances existing RPG programs
- Troubleshoots and debugs existing code and systems to identify and resolve issues
- Experienced with relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Ability to perform SQL skills for complex data analysis and data quality assurance
- Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex programming issues
- Tests codes and fixes to ensure quality deliverables
- Performs maintenance on existing programs and makes enhancements to applications based on user requirements
