As a Field Service Technician, you are committed to answering our customer’s inquiries and resolving their issues in a timely manner, while ensuring a high level of quality and efficiency.
The work is challenging, fast paced, and always on the bleeding edge. You are extremely patient, have strong interpersonal skills, an unwavering commitment to quality and a collaborative work ethic.
You don’t need to be an expert or know everything about our industry (even we don’t). What we’re after is someone with a curious mind and a passion for improvement.
What You Will Do:
Network Assessment:
- An in-depth analysis of merchants current IT infrastructure that provides us and merchants with a comprehensive understanding of their existing environment and recommends improvements such as network consolidation, simplification, or automation.
- Armed with accurate evaluations of merchants current infrastructure assets, such as maintenance status, capabilities and weaknesses.
- Use a checklist while completing the site visit and assessment at the merchant side.
Inspection & Installation:
- Check network coverage of premises (WiFi and Internet Connection).
- Check the merchant's own hardware compatibility (if applicable).
- Perform installation of hardware such as POS, routers and printers when required.
- Configure the routers and printers if applicable/necessary.
- Connect the POS device to the internet.
- Perform a print test via the POS device to ensure that the POS is connected to the Printer.
- Prepare a report on the onsite visit, with the relevant pictures.
Troubleshooting:
- Perform basic troubleshooting steps based on the table provided.
- Test the hardware(s) at the completion of the troubleshooting steps to ensure the desired outcome is achieved.
- Escalate back to the StoreHub team if the troubleshooting is unsuccessful.
- Prepare a report on the onsite visit, with the relevant pictures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Use product and technical expertise to guide customers through using our product successfully and troubleshooting.
- Engage their people-loving/people-serving skills when dealing with customers
- Making the customers day by traveling to customer's business for onsite troubleshooting and servicing when necessary.
- Need to conduct at least 60 visits/month/person.
Technical Skills:
- Experienced with hardware setup.
- Understand how network connections work (LAN, WAN, WiFi).
- Have basic hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Analytical skills - able to prepare weekly & monthly reports with root cause analysis on the issues attended to and fixed.
Soft Skills:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
