Job Description

  • Developing high quality and effective marketing materials that align correctly with the overall brand strategy.
  • Realistic forecasting of sales and volume for the brand ensuring all parts of the company are agreed accordingly.
  • Presenting the brand strategy to manager and sales and marketing teams at internal meetings and conferences.
  • Managing external agencies and ensuring marketing budgets are met.
  • Analyzing the brand and current strategy and highlighting areas of weaknesses or conflicting messages.
  • Creating a brand plan and brand strategy and ensuring all aspects of the product or companies marketing and activities align in the goals of the brand.
  • Creating an enduring brand message that results in increased sales, brand loyalty and improving market share.
  • Championing the brand internally making sure all elements of the company understand the brand and its goal.
  • Working closely with all parts of the company to ensure commercial goals of the brand are met.
  • Managing all aspects of the brand through the supply chain both tangible and intangible.
  • Monitoring their sales and profitability
  • Supporting the brand manager in all decision
  • Making sure that the level of competitiveness of their brand in the market is high.
  • Seek out new marketing opportunities that fit with the brand and maximizing all opportunities for growth.
  • Champions new product cycle to successfully launch innovations from R&D to sales performance and sustaining activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Has 3-4 years experience in brand management in FMCG/ Food Industry
  • Knows how to read and DELIVER a P&L
  • Has experience in doing BUSINESS REVIEWS enough to do it with ease (using internal data and external findings) and uses this as basis for recommendations
  • Has a strong DIGITAL background - knows how to effectively utilize all the relevant platforms and read the diagnostics
  • Consumer-driven and externally oriented - looks at insights, competition, the economic landscape, new technologies
  • Knows the 6Ps well enough to know which of them to activate to achieve a goal (Positioning, Product, Packaging, Place, Price, Promotion)

Leadership Skills

  • Has strong project management skills (probe for instances of leading several projects all at once)
  • Has strong strategic influencing skills (probe for instances of leading difficult team members and convincing difficult stakeholders)

With years of experience in the food and beverage industry under his belt as Managing Director and CEO of Unilever RFM Ice Cream, Inc. (Selecta), John Marie Concepcion’s decision to enter the restaurant world was inevitable. Hence, The Standard Group came to be. In 2011, Yabu: House of Katsu was introduced as our first venture, located in a pocket of a space in a busy mall. An all-original concept, it was the first of its kind to introduce authentic Japanese katsu in a casual environment. With all the right elements in place, Yabu became an undoubted success—a fact that still holds true, more than five years since it opened. A few years following its emergence, we partnered with globally recognized ramen brand Ippudo in 2014. The Standard Group eventually grew to become Ippudo’s best operator, globally. At that point, we had a total of 15 shops. By then, introducing a new brand into the market was in order. So in December of 2016, New York City’s prime barbeque brand, Mighty Quinn’s, opened its doors. In the last half decade, The Standard Group has gone from being a hopeful group with an earnest 100 square-meter space, to a key player in the local dining scene, with three brands and closing in on 20 shops around the city (and counting). We thoroughly research every detail, from the way the restaurants are designed, down to the flavors of each dish. Diners are at the heart of the matter.
