Job Description
- The Head, Corporate Finance is responsible for the strategic aspects of financial management of the St. Luke’s Group of companies. The key role of the head is to assess and serve the short and long term financial needs of the Group by providing financing and investing options for the SLMC companies (SLMC-QC, SLMC-GC, SLEC, etc.) and special projects. He/she is also in-charge of determining profitability of projects both existing and prospective, and provide decision support to top management.
- Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide recommendations to enhance the over-all financial performance of the Group.
- Undertake financial feasibility studies, as well as analysis and evaluation of projects and business activities to identify their commercial, financial, and economic risks.
- Consolidate the Group’s financial plans, monitor financial performance, and provide management and the Board with analysis of performance and recommendations for improvement.
- Determine fund requirement for expansion and growth and recommends appropriate sources of capital.
- Coordinate and negotiate with banks and other financial institutions for procurement of debt and other financial instruments.
- Manage the Group’s excess funds and investments to ensure maximum return and at the same time preserve capital.
- Provide financial oversight on the following subsidiaries:
- SLEC, SLCM, and Foundation.
- Take charge in the set-up of new subsidiaries including determining the appropriate corporate structure and the development of financial and accounting systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor's/College degree in Management Engineering, Finance, Accountancy, Banking, Business Studies, Business Administration, Business Management, or its equivalent.
- Certified Public Accountant is an advantage.
- MBA degree holder is a plus.
- At least 15 years of work experience in taxation, merging/acquisition process, financial audit, setting up of financial accounting operations, fund hedging, PEZA accreditation, and other related fields.
- Preferably CEO/SVP/AVP/VP/Directors specializing in Finance - Corporate Finance/Taxation/Funds Management or its equivalent.
