Job Description
Directly reports to: Head of Product
Sprout is looking for a Security Engineer to join our Engineering Team and work with our software development effort to ensure that both our servers and our applications comply with ISO 27001 standards for IT, application, and data security. The Security Engineer will also be responsible for regularly testing and assessing the state of Sprout's infrastructure and software to harden it for various security risks, from known vulnerabilities to zero-day exploits.
Tasks:
- Perform IT risk assessments, security reviews, configuration reviews, and review of solution design and functional requirements documents
- Provide subject matter expertise in process and related components of client’s identity management solution
- Assist in the development and implementation of information security policies, standards, and processes
- Create and maintain a yearly evaluation and audit activity for the infrastructure and applications
- Coordinate security assurance activities, which consists of providing or requesting evidence to verify compliance against approved security baselines
- Provide Incident Response (IR) support when analysis or events confirm an actionable incident
- Track the status of all security-related audit findings and assisting in the closure of the significant findings
- Track the status of all security-related remediation resulting from incidents and yearly evaluation activities
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of security best practices for:
- Windows Server, IIS, and ASP.NET
- web applications
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Knowledge of OWASP and its annual top 10 security risk list
- Capability to conduct both scheduled and ad hoc penetration testing activities
- Experience and knowledge in web server hardening, defense, and protection from various forms of attack
