Job Description

The Logistics Manager manages and directs the Import and Export operations, Transport - 3rd Party Provider, Material Inventory, and Warehouse Operations, providing logistical support to various departments.

The Logistics Manager has supervisory authority over the warehouse workforce; he/she is responsible for coaching and training the warehouse workforce members. He/she is also responsible for planning and managing logistics, warehouse, and transportation

The Logistics Manager coordinates with the Logistics Supervisors for Import/Export and Domestic/Transport, Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Officers, and Storekeepers to ensure inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and smooth material transportation.

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, and transportation
  • Direct, optimize, and coordinate full cargo cycle- point of pick up to point of delivery and receiving
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency for fuel and maintenance cost
  • Manage inventory accuracy in all warehouses, conducting periodic physical inventory
  • Supervise, coach, and train warehouse workforce
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timelines target
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Regulatory Compliance import/export in Country with Customs and local agencies
  • Import procedures: Coordinate shipment status with suppliers, organize amd compile documents required for imports/exports; Follow up for timely clearance of materials from customs
  • Custom clearance: Ascertain applicable duties, coordinate with customs/port/airport for processing bill of entry/warehouse goods and freight forwarders/steamer/container agents in order to ensure timely clearance of material
  • Transportation: Coordinate with international/local transport and logistic contractors, and organize/arrange material transportation from vendors premises/port/airport/warehouse/local vendors to destination and follow up transportation status in order to ensure timely and safe delivery of material
  • Lifting Operations: To establish and implement safe work procedures (including risk assessments) for all lifting operations so as to minimize the risk of injury or property damages and in accordance to the country’s workplace safety and health regulations; Coordination with crane rental contractors to ensure on-site lifting operations standards and safety are followed
  • Ensure that personnel operate in an environment that complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies; Develop and provide appropriate training for team members to enable them to improve and achieve their objectives while effectively contributing to business performance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s/College degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent
  • Must have at least 10 years’ Logistic Operational experience
  • Must have hands on experience in warehouse management software and database
  • Must be knowledgeable in manufacturing quality standards
  • Must have expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practice
  • Preferably Assistant Manager/Manager specialized in Logistics/Inventory/Material & Warehouse Management or equivalent
  • Must have good problem solving skills and understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Must be able to make effective decisions under pressure
  • Must be very organized, creative, reliable, and possess leadership qualities
  • Must be have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be team oriented
  • Must be willing to travel as needed
  • Must be willing to be assigned in Makati City
