Job Description

The O&M Engineer is responsible for monitoring and operating the functions associated with the distribution lines and associated equipment. Maintains systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or non-functional components and parts; supervising staff.

The O&M Engineer is responsible for maintaining the day to day operations in the power plant. The role holder holds supervisory and managerial authority. The role holder possesses the ability to plan and act upon issues onsite.

•Ensures the project is running according to operating procedures.

•Monitors the distribution lines and associated equipment.

•Determines and evaluates the performance of individual equipment which needs immediate attention.

•Ensures reliable operation of the system that may affect the operation of the plant.

•Issues job order and permit to work to the O&M technicians.

•Communicates locations of personnel, equipment, outage information, and safety measures with internal and field personnel.

•Communicates member requests with appropriate internal and field personnel.

•Responsible for being available for scheduled rotational (on-call) duties and as needed.

•Responsible for following all cooperative safety policies and procedures.

•Provides distribution automation programming support as needed.

•Assist in gathering information for reporting needs (board reports, departmental benchmarks, etc.)

•Dispatches outage and power quality calls to the appropriate internal and field personnel.

•Supervises on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of distribution equipment.

•Supervise linemen and foreman during replacement, installation, and proper use of test equipment.

•Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance.

•Respond to plant breakdowns.

•Creates and updates maintenance procedures.

•Leads O&M technician team; including temporary labor.

•Identifies unsafe work or operating conditions and takes proper actions to neutralize hazard in compliance with health and safety legislation.

•Manages budgets and maintains statistical and financial records.

•Manages stocks of supplies and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

•Licensed Electrical Engineer (REE)

•Possesses knowledge of the Philippines Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices

•Possesses knowledge of Operation & Maintenance

•Possesses knowledge in Electrical Testing

•Possesses knowledge in Safety

•Computer literate and is proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software

•Above average written and verbal communication skills.

•Required language(s): English, Filipino

•At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

•Should be ready for field visits

•Should be flexible to perform installation role if necessary

•Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours

•Must be a resident of Tablas, Romblon, or nearby areas
