Job Description
- Supports and assists Tax Compliance Manager in the preparation of reporting requirements of BIR, SEC and other regulatory bodies
- Analyzes financial information, examines accounts and records, reviews tax computations and coordinate with the accountants to ensure compliance with tax laws, and all rules and regulations of BIR
- Ensures compliance with periodic tax payment, information reporting and other BIR requirements
- Supports and assists other departments (Accounting/Finance/Operations) as necessary on proper compliance documentation and tax related issues
- Prepares annual tax returns of different companies
- Prepares and submit documents such as AFS, GIS and GFFS required by SEC
- Maintains strong control over documentation such as tax returns, confirmations, and payment acknowledgements and SEC related documents
- Identifies ideas to change and develop processes and procedures within department so that the firm moves to greater levels of efficiency and better service
- Participates in the development of new accounting techniques in the design and implementation of new tax authority rulings that may affect day to day transactions
- Provides advice regarding effects of business activities on taxes and create strategies for minimizing tax liabilities
- Communicates with Tax Authorities regarding audits and inquiries aiming to resolve issues/audit findings
- Monitors and conducts tax research. Keeps track on the latest tax schemes used by different companies and compared it with the existing tax scheme
- Ensures cleanliness of work area
- Abides by the company’s strict safety rules and regulations
- Does other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be CPA / Lawyer
- Must have at least 5 years working experience related to taxation, audit and/or accounting
- Mus have good knowledge in basic accounting, corporate income tax, withholding tax and VAT
- Must have experience in handling tax audit, objection and appealing process.
- Comfortable with quantitative analysis
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Ability to handle shifting and multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth environment
