Production Estimator  

Our company has been in residential construction for 9 years and employ 12 staff in the office and a further 10 staff across our sites along with dozens of subcontractors to complete our projects. We primarily build investment projects that are either new homes or townhouses from 1 dwelling to 10 dwellings on each project.

Our team consists of accounts staff, sales staff, estimating and operations and as a Production Estimator, you will be working in estimating and liaising with our in office estimators daily for a run down on current projects and current workload.

The backbone of our business outside of great service and customer focus is ensuring our take-offs for each trade and supplier are absolutely accurate ready to put onto a purchase order for construction. In this role, you will be responsible for all projects assigned to you for a take offs which directly affects profitability for us on those jobs. To be ideal for this role you will need to be highly organized and methodical ensuring accuracy with every take-off and purchase order. You will need to naturally have strong communication skills to liaise with our in-house team and feel comfortable challenging us if you discover any shortfalls or discrepancies as each item could save or cost us considerably. You will need to have sound knowledge of the construction process and the courage to ask for help when unsure. Lastly, each member of our team needs to be self-motivated and proactive each day especially with remote office staff.

Qualifications:

Degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or similar

Experience:

3 years minimum with an Australian or American firm doing take offs or estimation for residential construction of some kind.
