Warehouse Manager  

Description:

Performs over-all management of the Warehouse Department that will ensure the effective storage, safekeeping, retrieval and delivery of materials in accordance to approved company policies and standards. The position is also responsible for developing and driving strategies, projects and initiatives that will contribute to an efficient, reliable, timely and cost effective warehouse and distribution operations. Key functional areas include: Transport Operations and Warehouse Operations.

The position reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

The position will supervise the following:

2 Warehouse Supervisor
4 Rank & File
Approx. 10 non-permanent warehouse & transport personnel

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans and directs all inbound and outbound activities of the warehouse for raw materials (RM) and packaging materials (PM) for management control.
• Establishes policies and procedures in warehouse operations that support Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and Good Warehousing Practice (GWP) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Mobilizes the warehouse team by providing leadership, assigning specific functions and providing the necessary resources to ensure smooth implementation of all warehouse and distribution-related programs.
• Ensures that pertinent parameters supporting Good Warehousing Practice (GWP) are in place and monitored regularly and necessary actions to improve the processes are taken.
• Oversees warehouse activities by requiring reports from subordinates to monitor status and generate ways to improve operations, if needed.
• Monitors and analyzes the actual movement of RM and PM to efficiently manage and plan the warehouse operations.
• Monitors, develops and implements programs in coordination with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure RM and PM are delivered to destination in the most cost-effective and efficient way.
• Plans, leads, and directs a group of Order Processors in ensuring on-time and accurate processing of orders and delivering quality restaurants and cafes.
• Establishes a good working relationship with Operations in order to ensure the restaurant/café’s needs and requirements are addressed by the warehouse team in a timely and accurate manner.
• Encourages departmental goal achievement by setting standards and professional development plans to drive maximum performance.
• Creates a productive work environment for team members by applying the appropriate people and team management skills to inspire a work culture of effectiveness, efficiency and excellence.
• Ensure compliance of the warehouse operations to laws or city ordinances that affect its operations.

Qualifications required:

Education : College degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent course.

Work Experience:

• At least 8 years of work experience in warehouse and distribution operation gained from FMCG or food service industry.
• With hands-on experience in reviewing and/or establishing processes and documenting them.
• Knows Good Warehousing Practice (GWP) and has applied its principles and standards on the job
• With experience in leading a team of supervisors and rank & file
