Senior Application Developer  

As part of OLSS development team, the Senior Application Developer will be responsible for making modifications to the current PowerBuilder 8 applications and Oracle programs to support custom development projects and resolve software defects.

Primary Responsibilities, Qualifications & Experience:

• Must be well versed in PowerBuilder, including:
  • Design, Develop and Test PowerBuilder objects and code
  • PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation classes)
  • Deep and complex inheritance structures
  • Non-visual objects for various facilities
  • Dynamic changes to data windows, both changing data objects and changing the SQL within them
• Must be well versed in writing Oracle packages, procedures, functions, triggers and views, including:
  • Design, Develop and Test PL/SQL packages procedures and functions
  • Design and implement primary keys and foreign key relationships
  • Use of sequence generators
  • Calls to C programs, java routines, external OS calls
• Experienced in use the Oracle catalog to identify table structures:
  • Column Names
  • Data types
  • Primary keys, unique indices, foreign key constraints
  • Using synonyms
  • Using triggers
• Experience in Oracle Forms and Reports is a plus:
  • Modify Existing forms are reports and necessary
• Experience in Red Hat Linux or HP-UX is a plus, including:
  • Shell Scripting
  • Basic Navigation
  • VI editing
• Be able to learn a new environment quickly, including:
  • Where to find source code and executables
  • How to deal with the database
  • Learning enough from a quick walk through and or design document how a screen or piece of the application works.
  • Quickly establishing working relationships with various members of the OLSS teams.
