Job Description

As a member of IT organization, working under the direction of Director of QA; the QA Automation Lead is responsible for building automation framework, tool assessment and overall automation effort to focus on improving quality and efficiency of testing of assigned project. He/she will collaborate with other QA engineers, development and business teams to ensure that a quality product/functionality is delivered into production.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working collaboratively with business, provide input to make the user stories and automation requirements well defined and robust
  • Collaborate with developers and testers to provide input for automation-ready design and test cases
  • Analyze requirements; their downstream impact and upstream dependencies/connections and provide automation estimate (agile/waterfall)
  • Own and execute end to end test automation effort for agile and waterfall projects.
  • Conduct automation feasibility study, estimate and deliver robust automation suites
  • Develop tool agnostic automation approach
  • Define/identify automation testing requirements, approach, framework changes and create automation strategy and plan
  • Design, develop, review and maintain automated test suite
  • Keep up to speed with industry trends and QA tools/techniques and identify the potential to implement at Essilor
  • Prepare training material and automation documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • Experience requirements:
    • 10 to 12 years (Expert level knowledge and experience required)
    • Knowledge and experience of end to end testing lifecycle phases and ability to own and execute each phase and task for the lifecycle
    • Hands on experience in at least two from: Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior driven development (BDD), Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD)
    • Hands on experience in three or more functional testing types and levels such as System, SIT, UAT, Regression, ETL/BI Testing, Agile in-sprint, Exploratory, Agile Hardening Automated Unit Testing
    • Desired: Experience in one or more non Functional testing such as Performance, Disaster-Recovery, Operations Readiness, Production Readiness, Usability

    • 8-10 years must have hands on experience for at least 6 out of the last 8 years
  • (Expert level knowledge and experience required).
    • Knowledge and experience of different automation frameworks
    • Hands on experience in using, customizing and implementing at least three from: Linear, Modular, Library Architecture, data driven, keyword driven, hybrid
    • Ability to develop complex, robust and resilient automated scripts under an existing framework
    • Experience of in-sprint automation and automation as a service
    • Hands on experience in two or more from HP QTP/UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, Tricentis TOSCA, SmartBear TestLeft, Sikuli
  • Test Management / Agile Collaboration
    • Ability to define strategy, decide approach and plan testing for automated unit, functional, build acceptance test
    • Three or more from: TestDirector, HP Quality Center, HP ALM, JIRA, RALLY/AgileCentral, BugZilla, Microsoft Test Manager, MS TFS, ScrumWorks, QAComplete, CA Clarity, MS Project, Sharepoint, MindMap, Trello
  • CI-CD / DevOps
    • Understanding and experience of DevOps and testing in a continuous integration-continuous delivery – continuous deployment environment At least one of: Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab
  • Industry Packages
    • Oracle EBS / OBIEE / TIBCO EIM / TIBCO ESB / SalesForce.com
  • Programming and Scripting Languages
    • Hands on working experience on One or more of:

      • C#& VBScript or Java & JavaScript or RUBY or PYTHON

  • Methodologies and process
    • Must Have: Agile SCRUM, KANBAN, Iterative, Waterfall, Hybrid Desired: RUP/ TMAP/ UPMM
