Job Description
Responsibilities:
Monthly Financial Close
- Assist in the preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, prepaids, balance sheet reconciliations and reclasses for the organization
- Assist with the monthly close in accordance with the published corporate schedule
- Assist with monthly financial reporting process, including P&L reporting and analysis.
- Analyze historical data for trends and unusual variances; comparing results to estimate and budget.
- Review monthly expense activity (Ariba, Oracle, Other).
- Track Need to Achieves and Variances to BAU engagements
- Prepare analysis for ad hoc requests and special projects and provide direct support to the Senior Finance Leaders on an as-needed basis.
Accounting & Operational Support
- Assist with account coding inquiries.
- Assist business with invoice or procurement questions, and/or connecting these team members to the correct resource for resolution.
- Assist in reviewing and tracking Ariba purchase requisitions.
Annual Budget and Monthly Estimate Process
- Assist in monthly estimate process, including updating and validating forecast assumptions.
- Support finance leaders in data collection needed for annual planning and budgeting purposes
- Update forecast assumptions in Anaplan models
Other Accountabilities:
- Maintain the operational schedules for Assets and Leases across the DTS Organization
- Assist with vendor management and governance-related activities.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the financial systems that are critical to the reporting process.
- Provide thorough and accurate responses to senior management and business leads inquires.
- Alert management to accounting or operational issues, risks and opportunities and suggest actionable solutions.
- Partner with all DTS Tower Financial Leads, Accounting COE and other Corporate financial functions
- Use broader knowledge of financial principles and theories to improve processes
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years’ work experience in public/private accounting, financial or technology firm.
- Knowledge of US GAAP or other similar accounting principles is preferred. Strong knowledge of accruals and accounting for prepaid expenses required
- Must be amenable to work in a mid-shift schedule
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to clearly and concisely present issues and ideas.
- Strong skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookup, IF functions, etc.) and PowerPoint.
- Fluency with Oracle Financials or other similar financial systems, Anaplan and Oracle Smart View strongly preferred.
- Large data manipulation experience preferred.
- Passionate about using data to drive business decisions
- Experience with Tableau or other analytical tools preferred.
- Proven design abilities for reports/dashboards in Business Intelligence solutions
- Demonstrate investigative research and analytical capabilities necessary to provide the leadership team with accurate and insightful interpretation of financial information.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for operational and financial problems.
- Attentive to accuracy, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/acts on quality problems
- Self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to work independently as a fully contributing member of a team and possesses the ability to act creatively to problem solve. The preferred shift will be a split shift that overlaps with US-based team members.
- Comfortable managing the delivery of high-quality outputs with overlapping deadlines and tight time constraints
- Familiar with multiple business functions (Marketing, Product, Finance et al.) and comfortable engaging with various stakeholders
