The Role: Accounts Assistant

The Location: Silver City, Pasig, Philippines

Responsibilities:

• Creation and posting of monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, reclassifications and allocations
• Provision of support for monthly payroll accounting entries
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Creation and submission of manual payment requisitions
• Collating information for statutory external audit requests
• Running Trial Balance reports as required
• Preparation of monthly revenue invoices for Poland
• Preparation of monthly cashflow forecasts
• Preparation of UK group quarterly VAT submission, along with supporting information and schedules
• Collating of supporting invoices and schedules for monthly South African VAT returns, along with supporting schedules and invoices
• Assist with collating of information related to tax compliance, corporation tax computations and general VAT informational requests
• Preparation and submission of Office for National Statistics statutory returns for UK entities
• Involvement and participation in ad-hoc projects set by the London-based Controllership team

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, preferably from a shared services environment.
• Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Well organized and able to prioritize conflicting deadlines
• Attention to detail, results orientated, agility and rigor
• A strong desire to exceed expectations
• Real team player with innate desire to effect change

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong technical accounting skills, with working knowledge of FRS/IFRS and US GAAP knowledge being favourable
• General understanding of Corporate Tax, Sales Tax/VAT principles
