Job Description
The Role: Assistant Manager, Global Markets
On a daily basis, you will edit stories for accuracy, style and content, adhering to tight deadlines. You will help develop fresh story ideas; deliver sharp, concise content; and prioritize news coverage. You will also use your strong leadership skills to manage and mentor team members in your and other offices.

Our subscription-based news service reaches an influential readership, including credit risk analysts, buy- and sell-side teams, and regulators. The news we provide is a critical part of S&P Global Market Intelligence's highly valued product offering.
This position is part of the Global Markets team, which covers a wide variety of areas from geopolitics and financial markets to monetary policy and trade.

The Team / The Business:
The Global Markets team has journalists and editors in India, Pakistan, the Philippines, the U.S. and U.K. The Assistant Manager will get to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, enabling us all to develop a close team dynamic with co-workers from around the globe.
Responsibilities
- Edit news articles for accuracy, style and content, and provide constructive feedback on stories.
- Manage a team of journalists based in and outside the Philippines.
- Actively engage with internal/external stakeholders and prioritize news coverage.
- Coach and mentor team members, encouraging them to come up with fresh story ideas.
- Adhere to deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelors’ degree, preferably in business or journalism.
- Business journalism experience. Prior record of editing and managing teams will be preferred.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a strong command of journalistic practices (AP style, libel issues, etc.).
- Reasonable understanding of concepts used in financial markets.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
- Critical thinking abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and multicultural environment.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
