Desktop Publisher, Research  

The Role: In this role, you will be creating tables, charts and other graphical elements for the company’s research offerings. You will also be performing publications layout and tagging, as well checking and optimizing content submissions.

The Impact: You will assist in producing core content for SPGMI's data-driven Research offering, with a recognized high impact in shaping overall operational and product quality.

There are opportunities to produce more sophisticated infographics and take on larger-scale, more innovative publications and graphic design projects. You would also be able to develop your data auditing skills, and leverage greater knowledge of data integration, analysis and extrapolation in linked spreadsheets and databases and via online platforms. You would contribute to systems and process enhancements and improvements. You would gain and apply increasingly diverse industry and geographic knowledge in daily work.

The Team / The Business: We have a dynamic on-site and globally based team, working closely with colleague desktop publisher/graphics artists, editors and others for industry research-driven market intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Create and format tables, charts and other graphical elements to guideline-based standards using spreadsheets, desktop publishing tools and internal systems.
• Refine, organize, input and lay out content submissions for online publications.
• Perform quality checks and vet submissions of financial and other data for clarity and consistency.
• Optimize content tagging, linking, curation and searchability.
• Retrieve information as requested. Support research editorial, analyst, industry content, product operations, client services and other team initiatives as assigned.

Your Skills:

• Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience with digital publishing, presentations and information delivery, preferably in English-language media, financial and news-reporting sectors; comparable experience with data handling.
• Strong English-language written and oral communications skills.
• Working knowledge in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good background in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
• Experience in online workflow tracking and publications creation applications and environments.
• Preferred (not required) D3.js, R and/or Python data visualization skills or experience.
• Good eye for, and understanding of, media design and data presentation/visualization.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy regarding instructions and procedures, content standards, and critical thought.
• Able to understand how a chart can tell a story in data
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks, as a self-starter.
• Ability to work and communicate well in a fast-paced team environment, focused on collaboration, as well as in an independent setting under minimal supervision.
• Eagerness to learn new things and be an effective global team player.
• Amenable to work in Makati and in a late night shift schedule.
