Job Description

Reports to: Group Product Manager

  • The Sales Manager/Assistant Sales Manager is the over-all in-charge in directing and supervising the field sales operations for all department stores, appliance stores, supermarkets, wholesalers and other distribution outlets. She has direct line authority over all sales representatives in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao Areas.
  • Coordinating with the Brand Manager and Division Manager in terms of making sure that the Beauty Consultants have the proper product training and skills required since it involves selling of cosmetics and hair tools, which require a specific skill set.
  • She will oversee the actual selling of the company’s products to the dealers and ensures that good business relations are developed and maintained with all customers.
  • She will aggressively initiate expansion of its sales operation nationwide particularly in the supermarket business by soliciting and opening new accounts.
  • She will be tasked to go on regular calls on dealers and visit field sales personnel to ensure that filed sales executives are achieved and that sales policies are followed.
  • She is expected to have an actual feel of the market in as much as, among managerial personnel, he is the one directly exposed to the dealers, customers and competitors, hence, she regularly gives feedback as to the actual field or market conditions, and actively participates in strategic planning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Expansion

  • Negotiates with new/potential dealers to open account and to get the best terms and conditions and display areas.
  • Oversees and renders general supervision.
  • Order getting (opening provincial new accounts)
  • Order taking (maintaining old accounts)
  • Monitoring of outlets stocks to avoid out of stock / overstock situations
  • Extend other sales opportunities to valued costumers

Sales Administration

  • Reviews weekly and daily itinerary of dealer coordinators to ensure that dealer coverage is maximized.
  • Plans and organizes the day-to-day activities of the Sales Group to ensure the attainment of the sales targets.
  • Communicates daily with the sales representatives to obtain dealers/outlet feedbacks.
  • Accompanies the Sales Group on actual sales calls to determine the salesmanship skills. The Sales Manager is required to provide on the job guidance and training in closing the sale.
  • Reviews daily / weekly / monthly meetings with the Sales Group to review efficiency of itinerary coverage, dealer performance, and sales supervisors and consultants performance.
  • Conducts spot audits of dealer visits to validate if sales supervisors reported itinerary.
  • Evaluates the performance of the sales group and give recommendation.
  • Reviews the sale group’s daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sales performance.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the sales programs and provides the necessary adjustment in the action plans to suit the actual filed condition.
  • Motivates by regularly conducting dialogues, providing immediate feedbacks, giving special training through the Human Resource Department and through other possible activities that could help them in performance of their jobs.
  • Prepares proposal on the allocation of stocks both existing and new arrivals to the different distribution networks.
  • Reviews the daily warehouse stock inventory report and informs the sales consultants on the stock position.
  • Monitors stock position at the retail level and recommends appropriate action for fast/slow-moving stocks in the respective dealers.
  • Informs the marketing group of fast moving/unavailable stocks.

Sales Promotions

  • Supervises the implementation of approved field sales promotional programs.
  • Monitors closely all field sales promotions to insure that all promotional materials and give-a-way items are used in accordance with the approved promotional plans.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of the sales programs and provides the necessary adjustment in the action in the action plans to suit the actual field condition.
  • Give feedback/reports on result of promotions, competitors’ promo activities and suggest promotional ideas and coordinates with the Brand Managers in the planning and implementation of sales promotions programs.

Sales Planning

  • Responsible in the preparation, development and implementation of the group’s sales strategies and plans.
  • Sets directions in the development and expansion of potential distribution outlets.
  • Formulates action plans based on competitive and market surveys.
  • Oversees the specific assignments of field sales personnel and the balancing of their work assignment.
  • Allocates/assigns quotas for each Sales Supervisor/Area/outlet considering historical sales, each outlet sales potential and planned promotions.
  • Plans and conducts regular meeting with sales personnel for the purpose of identifying, anticipating, and resolving problems with regards to sales operations, and for gathering first hand information that may have to be considered in strategic and tactical planning.

Assist in the formulation and implementation of the group’s marketing programs

  • Regularly coordinates with marketing group in order to give and receive feedback on the product’s sales performance, client inquiries, client requests, dealer’s activities and programs etc. and to make /propose for significant sales and promotional activities.
  • Regularly updates himself on the Division’s products, competitor’s products and activities.
  • Conducts market surveys by soliciting information from dealers and customers. Surveys should focus on market size on a paper product category, contribution of dealers on a product category basis, market’s pricing sensitivity, etc.
  • Coordinates with the marketing group information on competitors and dealer’s activities. (Trade and consumer promotions)

Regularly communicates with the Group Product Manager about the filed conditions and performance needs of the team.

Other Responsibilities

  • Performs other functions that may be assigned by the General Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Marketing or equivalent.
  • At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies.
  • Experience in customer relationship management.
  • Experience managing and directing a sales team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferably with experience in retail and cosmetics
  • Preferably Assistant Manager/Manager specialized in Sales - Retail/General or equivalent.
