Responsibilities:
- Work with the production team & take part in brainstorming sessions, to produce quality game experience design, level design, and audio-visual design features of the game
- Produce prototypes of gameplay and features
- Animate characters and assets
- Build the base and core features of the game
- Create process and script documentation
- Create unit tests and validation procedures to assure quality
- Detect, document, and resolve errors
- Maintain and polish code
Minimum Qualifications
What we're looking for:
Discovery Academy of Innovation + SparkleLAB is looking for a skilled & passionate Game Developer, to help realize an entire slate of projects ranging from fun & compelling games for kids ages 3-7, educational classroom games, online games, interactive trade show booth games, and games for our digital interactive playground system (SMALLab learning). You will work in conjunction with our founders, marketing team, design team & educators to transform ideas, concepts, stories and scripts into fun and inspiring games, and learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude
- Passionate about creating games
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Good programming skills
- Willingness to learn, and open to new experiences
- Up-to-date with the latest gaming trends, techniques, best practices and technologies
- Practices good code design, documentation, and version control, in efforts to streamline work and productivity
- Ability to receive feedback and critique with modesty, humility, and respect
- Knowledge or experience with cross-platform engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
- Experience in creating games on one or more of the following platforms: PC, consoles, mobile, & web
- Deep understanding of various game genres such as Platform, Shooter, Horror, RPGs/MMORPS and others.
- Knowledgeable and up-tp-date with APIs & Libraries
