Job Description

The Event Specialist generates excitement, brand awareness and boost sales by hosting, organizing, and joining events. He is responsible for reviewing program materials, setting up and breaking down the work area, including preparing and sampling products on pre-scheduled event days.

Statement of Duties

  • Plans and executes events, from company hosted events to sponsorship of industry conferences.
  • Works closely with the Brand Specialist to identify event goals, content, and promotion while keeping customer needs in mind, to ensure events’ success.
  • Responsible for pre-event consultation and planning, venue selection, agenda development and event flow, event promotion and registration, printing and shipping, travel arrangements, staffing, speaker identification, content creation, event materials, and collateral and swag creation.
  • On-site duties include ensuring proper set-up and signage, registration coordination, AV testing, speaker management, and time management.
  • Prepares and manages event calendar, project timelines, and event budget.
  • Markets and publicizes the event in a way that attracts a huge crowd, thus ensuring success and yielding better revenue and profits.
  • Expertly drives pre-event meetings, including ownership of event planning documentation. Ensures that there is an appropriate coordination within all event members.
  • Knowledgeable on all company products and represents the company professionally. Shares information about the company products and encourages sales.
  • In-charge on looking for dog groups for possible tie-ups and connections.
  • Negotiates with venue or partners to maximize branding opportunities. Coordinates with suppliers and possible sponsors.
  • Reports the following on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual basis, as requested, or for every event:
    • Regular pre-event status
    • Post event evaluation to be submitted within 3 days after the event, including but not limited to list of attendees with complete contact details
    • Event budget vs actual expenses
    • Liquidation reports must be submitted within 3 days after every event
    • Itinerary, coverage plan, and accomplishments
    • Planned and plotted social media calendar
  • Accomplishes the following events or engagements at a minimum of:
    • Participation in at least 8 to 10 activities per month, regardless if major or not, and with approved prior request and budget
    • Hosting 1 big event in every quarter per brand
    • At least 10 social media postings to dog groups, using the company’s facebook account, on a weekly basis
    • At least 1 dinner get together for all company Brand Ambassadors in every trimester
  • Requests and ensures delivery of monthly allocations of Brand Ambassadors and Territory Managers.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Basic Relationship

  • Functionally and administratively reports to the National Sales Manager
  • Coordinates with Sales Coordinator
  • Coordinates with Sales Encoder

Minimum Qualifications

  • A graduate of any bachelor’s degree; sales, business and marketing majors preferred
  • With at least 1 to 3 years of experience in the sales field of pet industry, including exposure in telemarketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; people skills; organizational and time management skills
  • Customer service oriented, with the ability to meet sales goals
  • Experience in executing territory sales strategies
  • Analytical skills with problem-solving attitude
  • Availability to travel most of the time, estimated to be 95% or more
  • With driver’s license
  • Computer literate
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
