Job Description
- Maintenance of the regional risk register, ensuring that risks and mitigating controls have been identified and assessed appropriately.
- Completing control testing to ensure current controls are operating effectively.
- Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of these risks to management, senior stakeholders, Risk Committee and the Board.
- Addressing High/Very-High/Critical risks, and ensuring mitigating actions are in place to reduce the risks to an acceptable level.
- Escalate issues
- Reporting of monthly KRIs
- Providing risk related guidance, proposing new controls and mitigating actions to business functions as applicable.
- Developing and distribution of risk management related communication, education, and awareness initiatives, and providing training to staff as applicable.
- Horizon scanning for future potential regional risks which may have an impact on the company.
- Keeping up to date with local regulatory changes within the remittances industry and key jurisdictions.
- Supporting the BCM Team to develop and deliver a viable business continuity programme.
- Contributing to the coordinating and running of local risk workshops and monthly BCM Coordinator meetings.
- Assist in the coordination and management of local risk related reviews, audits and examinations.
- Carrying out any other tasks as may be requested from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
- Holds a risk qualification; BA/BS or compensating experience in compliance.
- Strong risk management understanding and minimum 2 to 3 years previous experience or qualification in risk management or related disciplines, such as actuarial, compliance or internal audit or risk assurance function.
- Ability to work autonomously, with line management to be provided remotely from our UK office.
- The ability to listen in detail and understand and interpret the requirements of internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work closely with and manage key stakeholders across a fast-paced business.
