Visual Merchandising Specialist  

The Visual Merchandising Specialist assists with the process and implementation of Visual Merchandising strategies, interior displays, and related field communications to support the objectives of the Retail Division. The VM Specialist works directly with the Channel Marketing Team in conceptualizing and executing various visual marketing campaigns and executions for the stores. The VM Specialist must have a solid understanding of product placement strategies for multiple retail concepts, with strong creative skills to help enhance the aesthetic appeal of the stores. Reports directly to the Merchandising Supervisor, with a dotted line to the Head of Marketing and Communications.

Essential Job Results

• Help conceptualize and execute in-store marketing campaigns for all three retail channels: Toby’s Sports, RUNNR and urbanAthletics
• Assist in the implementation and communication of all visual direction regarding windows, installations, display standards, and merchandise directions
• Work in conjunction with the Channel Marketing team to ensure all elements of new initiatives/updates are properly executed on a store level.
• Follow project timelines as required within the marketing calendar.
• Assist in the execution of floor and window set-up for the stores.
• Adhere to store opening timeline in relation to graphics and visual merchandising requirements
• Maintain and update VM calendar.
• Help in effectively and consistently performing quarterly VM audit process in close coordination with store personnel.
• Maintain the store master trait files for all props, fixtures, and fixtures components.
• Assist in any additional visual merchandising projects for various brands

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Visual Merchandising Specialist or Associate
• Self-starter with high level of initiative and a strong sense of ownership and urgency
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and proficiency in Word), Corel Draw, SketchUP, CAD and Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, and Photoshop).
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills. Strong project managing experience and flexibility to adapt to change
• Ability to work cross functionally and develop strong interpersonal working relationships.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of any creative courses (Fine Arts, Advertising, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Multimedia Arts etc.)
• Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in Visual Merchandising.
• Possesses highly creative and analytical thinking.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and proficiency in Word), Corel Draw, SketchUP, CAD and Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, and Photoshop).
• Sports retail experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• AA in visual communications, merchandising or marketing or related field is preferred, but not required.
