Content Specialist  

EDUCATIONAL CONTENT SUBJECT EDITORS
(Senior High School)

The primary responsibility of the Subject Editor is to support the content creation as a subject matter expert, proofread and edit the scripts turned in from writers/presenters so that we can develop high quality lesson and activities in line with the national curriculum (K-12 Curriculum) of Philippines for Grades 10-11, following our style guide.

In detail, the Subject Editor will mainly perform the following tasks in the team.

• Edit Topics - Edit from 3 angles. Plagiarism, System (Does it work with our system), and Content (Does the content cover the learning objective? How is the vocabulary level?). Quality is more important than schedule!
• Enter Topics in Q-Create - Enter topics in our content creation system, Q-Create.
• Train teachers - for Video Project only, develop and direct teachers for quality video lectures

Subjects for each project:

• Regular Content (Grade 4 - 10 to Senior High School)
  • Science Filipino Araling Panlipunan English Math
• Video Project (Senior HIgh School)
  • Chemistry Math English

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• It is a must that the candidate is familiar with the Philippines education system and the national curriculum (K-12 Curriculum)
• Demonstrable skill of editing lessons and activities for the subject the candidate applied to.
• Preferably has experience using Content Management System or Learning Management System.
• Manage deadline and schedule.
• Positive results-oriented mind.
• Has good oral and written English communication skills
• Flexible (easily adjusts to sudden changes)
• For English subject editor: has extensive knowledge in grammar, literature, reading and listening comprehension, written and oral language, and vocabulary development)
• For Math subject editor: has extensive knowledge in basic math, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, and advanced algebra.
• For Science subject editor: has extensive knowledge in earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics.
• Familiar with Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition)
• Willing to learn HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) for English subject editor and MathML or LaTex typesetting systems for math or science subject editor

Work Conditions & Compensation:

• Can be part time job, but minimum 30 hours per week.
• The editor will be paid per hour.
• The editor will be paid twice per month, at the 15th and 30th of the month

Experience: Total of more than two years of the below is a must.

• Experience in editing educational contents (e-learning, textbook, workbook, reference book) for Grades 4-10, Senior High School and/or College
• Have of teaching experience (classroom, review center, and/or other informal teaching set-up)

Education:

• Required - Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) in Instructional Design or Education Majors closely related to the subject the candidate applied for
• Master's Degree is an advantage
