Job Description
Position Summary:
Systems Engineer will be responsible for IBM iSeries, AS / 400 Systems Administrator and will be primarily responsible for the support and administration of IBM servers and softwares, this includes systems configuration, systems security and replication using (Vision) Mimix Software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administration and implementation of IBM iSeries computer hardware and software.
- Installation, configuration, and support of IBM iSeries hardware, software, networked devices, journaling, and Mimix software, and other software solutions.
- Develop, document, and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as required.
- Load and test operating system and application software releases and fixes in both development /test and productions environments; load application software patches; performance and file tuning utilities.
- Document and implement application specific security groups and classes. Provide cross-training for other team members in the use of IBM administrative skills.
- Willing to learn other Hardware and Software implementation such as IBM AIX, Windows, Linux, and Database.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree with a major in Computer Information System or Engineering.
- New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Experience supporting IBM iSeries is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
